Haiku poems is a typical Japanese poetry dealing with the importance of nature. It is a poem consisting of 17 syllables arranged in the following pattern:
Line 1 five syllables
Line 2 seven syllables
Line 3 five syllables

Oh, Moon, I wonder
Just where do you go and why
You're always alone?

Trees everlasting
Refreshing green for my eyes
Guardians of the earth!

Hello, lovely Rose!
With petals red, white and pink,
What beauty! What joy!

Twinkling little stars,
Like sparkling gems in the sky,
See how they twinkle.
--- Mushroom
You, lonely mushroom
Beneath the old, fallen tree
Will you be my friend?

A poor little toad
Was left in the cold, long road,
"Croak! Croak!" said the toad.

Rain, rain go away
Little Tommy likes to play
On a sunny day.

Huge clouds, soft and white
Watching them is a great pride

All I have is love
To keep me alive and free
Alive...free...like a bird
Soar across the sky
Soar high, soar without ceasing
