Juan Luna - Spoliarium

He made Spoliarium as a result of his propaganda sentiments. Rizal described the Spoliarium as the "expression of the spirit of our social, moral and political life, humanity, subjected to trials... reason and aspiration in open fight with prejudice, fanaticism, and injustice."

Fernando C. Amorsolo - Pounding Rice

Pounding Rice is a painting of a common community scene. It shows three women alternately pounding rice at the front porch of a nipa hut. Also depicted in the painting is a man seated at the side of the nipa hut and holding a rooster. On the ground are bilao and a hen with her chicks feasting on some rice spilled on the ground.

Victoria Edades - Mending the Nets

Mending the Nets is an oil painting on canvas. It portrays a familiar beside-the-sea scene-two men mending the nets with the calm, blue sea in the background.

Guillermo Tolentino - Venus Rising

Venus Rising is a sculpture in bronze, 70 feet high.

Vicente S. Manansala - Pila-Pila sa Bigas

Pila-Pila sa Bigas is an oil painting. He portrayed the painting in a long queue of women holding their paper bags as they wait for their turn to get their rice ration.

Carlos "Botong" Francisco - Kaingin

Kaingin was painted in water color and won the first prize in the Art Association of the Philippine art competition.
